The Oilseed Hammer Mill is a high speed grinding unit used in the pretreatment section of edible oil plants. After cleaning, shelling and cracking, many oilseeds and oil bearing cakes still arrive at the flaker with an uneven and oversized particle distribution. Feeding such material directly to the flaker produces thin edges, broken flakes and heavy fines, which lower oil recovery and increase the load on downstream extraction equipment.
