Product Description

The Oilseed Hammer Mill is a high speed grinding unit used in the pretreatment section of edible oil plants. After cleaning, shelling and cracking, many oilseeds and oil bearing cakes still arrive at the flaker with an uneven and oversized particle distribution. Feeding such material directly to the flaker produces thin edges, broken flakes and heavy fines, which lower oil recovery and increase the load on downstream extraction equipment. A hammer mill solves this problem by reducing the feed to a fine and uniform granular size in a single, controlled step.

The machine works on a simple and proven principle. A hardened rotor carrying swinging hammers spins inside a heavy steel casing, while interchangeable screens control the final particle size. Material enters the grinding chamber, is struck and thrown repeatedly against the screen, and leaves only once it is small enough to pass through the openings. Because the rotor and screen geometry can be adjusted, the same machine handles soybean, rapeseed, cottonseed, peanut, sunflower seed, corn germ and rice bran with only minor parameter changes. The result is a stable, repeatable grind that protects the flakers and keeps the whole pretreatment line running smoothly.

Key Features
  • Hammer mill fine grinding: a high speed rotor with hardened swing hammers reduces oilseeds and cakes to a uniform particle size for a clean flaking feed.
  • Uniform particle distribution: interchangeable screens keep the discharge size consistent, cutting fines and improving flake quality downstream.
  • High capacity, low noise: a balanced heavy rotor and reinforced casing deliver large throughput with reduced vibration and an operating noise level of no more than 85 dB.
  • Wear resistant grinding chamber: thick wear liners and a hardened rotor extend service life and reduce maintenance downtime.
  • Quick screen change: the upper casing opens on hinges so operators can replace screens and hammers in minutes without special tools.
  • Dust controlled design: sealed joints and an aspiration connection keep the workshop clean and meet environmental requirements.

Applications

The Oilseed Hammer Mill is installed between the cracking and flaking stages of an edible oil pretreatment line, and it is also widely used to regrind expeller cakes and press residues before solvent extraction. It handles soybean, rapeseed, cottonseed, sunflower seed, peanut, sesame, copra, palm kernel, corn germ and rice bran. The unit suits both new turnkey oil plants and existing mills that want to even out their flaking feed, and it can be supplied as a stand alone machine or integrated into a complete pretreatment section with conveyors, bucket elevators and aspiration.

Packaging & Quality Assurance

Every Oilseed Hammer Mill is cleaned, anti rust treated and packed in a heavy duty export wooden case with moisture barrier protection before shipment. The rotor is braced and the screens and hammers are secured in separate wraps to withstand long distance sea transport. Each unit is functionally tested at our factory before delivery and is supplied with an operation manual, a set of spare hammers and screens, and a twelve month warranty on core components. Engineers are available for overseas installation and operator training.
