The Desolventizer Toaster DTDC is the central meal processing unit in a solvent extraction plant. After oil has been extracted from the flakes, the wet meal still carries between 25 and 30 percent solvent, and this solvent must be recovered in a controlled way while the meal is simultaneously toasted, deodorised and dried to a stable, market ready condition.
Our DTDC machine uses a stack of steam heated trays fitted with direct steam injection, indirect steam coils and a live bottom. Wet meal enters the top tray, is agitated by rotating sweeps and falls progressively from tray to tray, meeting rising steam that strips the last traces of solvent. The design combines desolventizing, toasting, drying and cooling in one compact vertical vessel.
Because the process is fully enclosed and monitored by temperature and pressure sensors, the recovered solvent is returned to the recovery system with minimal loss, while the finished meal reaches a residual solvent level below 300 ppm and a moisture content suitable for safe storage and bagging.

The Desolventizer Toaster DTDC is used in edible oil solvent extraction plants processing soybean, rapeseed, cottonseed, sunflower seed and peanut meal. It also serves plants producing feed grade protein meal, where precise toasting is needed to control protein dispersibility. It fits between the extractor and the meal drying and bagging section of a modern extraction line.
Packaging & Quality AssuranceThe unit is shipped as pre assembled tray modules with the central shaft, sweep arms and drive wrapped separately to protect seals and bearings. Each module is coated with anti rust primer and protected with moisture barrier film for sea transport. Installation and commissioning guidance, together with a full spare parts list, is supplied, and all components carry a twelve month warranty against manufacturing defects.
