Edible Oil Extraction Machine Supplier: From Pretreatment to Solvent Extraction

2026-09-30

Choosing an edible oil extraction machine supplier is really about buying a process, not a single machine. Oil recovery depends on how well pretreatment feeds the extraction stage — get that balance wrong and even the best extractor will underperform.

The Pretreatment Stage Feeds Everything Else

Before extraction, oilseeds must be prepared so solvent can reach the oil:

  • Shelling — removing hulls from peanut, sunflower and palm nuts with a high-shelling-rate machine.
  • Crushing & flaking — reducing seed to uniform particles and then to thin flakes with a toothed roll crusher and a flaking machine.
  • Conditioning — roasting, softening and expanding the seed to raise oil yield; a puffing/expanding machine can lift extractable oil significantly.

Two Ways to Extract

Mechanical pressing suits small and medium mills and lower-oil seeds. Solvent extraction is used for large plants and for recovering the last oil from press cake:

  1. Rotocel continuous solvent extraction machine — for large-capacity oil mills, low residual oil in meal.
  2. Batch tank extractor — for small plants, combining extraction and desolventising in one tank.
  3. Solvent vacuum evaporation system and solvent recovery unit — to strip and recycle solvent safely.

What to Confirm with an Extraction Equipment Supplier

  • Residual oil in meal and residual solvent in oil (target figures in writing)
  • Capacity match between pretreatment and extraction
  • Safety: explosion-proof motors, solvent storage and recovery rate
  • Local environmental and emission requirements

Next Step

Henan Zhonglian Heavy Industry designs pretreatment and extraction lines as one system. Share your seed type, daily capacity and target oil recovery, and our engineers will propose a configuration. See the full equipment range.
