Oilseed Roasting Machine Drum Type Temperature Control Roaster ALS Series

There is an old saying in the oil milling industry that seed is thirty percent crushed and seventy percent roasted, and the saying captures the importance of the roasting stage. The Oilseeds Roasting Machine heats the seed so that the raw oil molecules soften gradually into a semi-liquid state, which makes them easier to press and lifts the oil yield while reducing wear on the press parts.

Our drum type, temperature controlled roasting machine roasts oilseeds evenly and gently. The machine consists of a sturdy rack, a transmission set, a reduction gear, a steaming and roasting pot, and the inlet and outlet tubes. The operator stirs the oilseeds for a set time while the temperature rises, so the whole batch reaches the target condition without scorching. Roasting time is normally adjusted from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the raw material.

Roasting is used in the pressing route for peanut, sesame, rapeseed, sunflower seed, tea seed and other oilseeds where a controlled heat treatment improves oil release and flavour. The roaster is normally positioned between the flaking or cooking stage and the screw press, and its settings are matched to the material and the required oil quality.

Each roaster is shipped with the drum secured, the gearbox oil drained and the drive motor crated separately where required. We supply an operating and safety manual covering start up, running checks, roasting time control and shut down, together with a twelve month warranty on the drum, gearbox and motor.
